Have you experienced the feeling when you pack, and you pack, and you pack, and when you get to your destination, you feel like you didn’t bring a thing? That’s me, every trip ever. I tend to overpack, and feel like I underpacked. So when I traveled to London this past weekend as part of a study trip with my graduate program, I was feeling completely underwhelmed by my fashion choices. My friend (and photographer for this post) is currently living in London, and she told me there was once place I had to visit: Primark.
“It’s like H&M but better,” my friend said. And boy, was she right. It was bigger than any H&M I’d ever seen, and about three times the crowd. I knew I needed a new look so I challenged myself to find a fun outfit for under £20. I took my new look to Carnaby Street, London for an impromptu runway show. Can you guess what I found?
I’m not going to lie. In order to stay true to an outfit under £20, I had to really look. I didn’t want to choose things I wouldn’t wear just for the sake of the post. I also didn’t want to go over budget as it is supposed to stay within the limits! My friend, Kara, actually suggested I get this dress after a very frantic me ran around the store. With such a large selection, it can be overwhelming to find what you like. Needless to say, I love it, and I’ve already worn it in Paris this week. I love stripes almost as much as polka dots (this post explains my polka dot love). Since it’s long sleeve, it’s perfect for the colder days the city has started to experience.
The shoes and the headband are a perfect representation of my style. I love a cute headband for the days when I’ve got no clue on what to do for a hairstyle. The shoes are black loafers, and I’ve learned to appreciate shoes you can walk in all day without fatigued feet. These are those shoes! Perhaps a bit too big, I guess that’s what I get when I’m not paying attention! Living in Paris will teach you to invest in good walking shoes. Unfortunately for me, I’m still learning what I can and can not wear. The shoes are a can wear!
Psst..by the way, I’m going to dedicate part of this post to brag on my amazing photographer. I met Kara my freshman year of college and wanted her to take pretty pictures of me. Ever since then, Kara has taken several photos of me (I promise I’m not asking her to take pics of me lol) and they keep getting better and better. She’s living in London now, so if you need a London-based photographer, check out her gallery. Her work is beautiful and I’m so honored she had the time to help me show off my travels from London.
Here’s a breakdown of each item’s price:

Everything is available at Primark! The bad news is most is not available online. I’m sorry about it, too!
I mentioned the yellow purse in my last post. Read it here! The fashion gods are calling that shade the “it” color for fall. I totally agree!
