Have you ever heard of Notting Hill? No, not the Hugh Grant movie! Located in London, Notting Hill is literally the picture-perfect street; it’s the type of street that makes you feel instant joy when you see it. A row of Victorian Houses decorated in all the colors of the rainbow are frequent in London’s most posh borough. But that’s the problem: it’s in London! Or is it? I came across Paris’ own Knotting Hill, located on Rue Cremieux in the 12th arrondissement. Luckily for me, it was such a beautiful day that I needed something to go along with my outfit and I found just the thing…a lovely bouquet of tournesol, or sunflowers!
Rue Cremieux is one of my favorite locations in Paris! I actually came across the rue last year in March. It was completely accidental! I thought it was just a darling street and always wanted to go back when I had the time. When a friend from London visited, we (well, me) made sure we took a trip to Paris’ Notting Hill. It was such a beautiful day! But apparently, what I thought was Paris’ little secret, was not so secret. It was so crowded when I visited.
Most homes actually have signs with “no photos” on the window…which I didn’t really understand honestly, but the shots we got were perfect anyway! I don’t really know how they police the “no photos” rule when there must have been about 10 other photographers when we visited. Anyway, if you go…make sure to check which houses get their gears grinded if you snap a photo on Rue Cremieux 🙂
This dress was/is one of my favorite dresses—ever! I found this dress back home in New Orleans from Century Girl Vintage. The shop is on Magazine Street and it’s one of my favorite vintage shops. This dress was a no brainer, literally. One of the quickest purchases I’ve ever made, and I knew it had to come with me to Paris. I have to be careful though. I noticed a small rip towards the shoulder and I’m freaking out because I don’t speak that much French to have it fixed! So let’s hope it holds up until I visit home at Christmas.
For my trip to Rue Cremieux, I paired this floral frock with my favorite Zara loafers (note to self, your favorite shoes are really just the only pair you brought when you’re living apart from home…) and a silver belt I found on Amazon fashion. I’m wearing the Frankie from JORD Watches and my earrings are from Zaful. There’s a few shots where you can see it, but my ring is my favorite Mignon Faget ring, the wide silk knot! The flowers are from this sweet little row of flower shops along the eglise, Madeline, which is near my apartment. It’s so hard for me to not buy flowers every day!
