I like to think that I don’t always follow the trends, but I can’t say that’s true with this trend. A few months ago, I saw a picture of Kylie Jenner in this fabulous midi length fringe skirt paired with an all black ensemble. Needless to say, at that point, I had needed that fringe skirt yesterday.
When I finally got the fringe skirt in the mail, I wondered how I could make it look better than Kylie Jenner did. The answer is that I couldn’t. But what I could do is make the look my own, and that’s just what I did. Because fringe is forever (at least that’s the motto right now) I knew I could make it work as we start looking towards fall fashion. I wore the fringe skirt Kylie made popular, but I made it perfect for my autumn style.
Let’s get to the nitty gritty. First, who did I think I was here? Was I #highfashion? Hahah! I’m getting a kick out of looking at myself here. Second, though I do love this fringe belt…it really isn’t a belt. I was hoping it would be tighter and would sit at my waist, but it sits closer to my hips. I can wear it around my waist, but it falls, ruining my idea of my intended look! Y’all, I’m not complaining because it was inexpensive, but I had hoped for a little bit more! You also have to be very careful when sitting down, especially around car doors or rolling office chairs. Yup, I got the fringe stuck in both of those items.
But hear me out. With trends, I don’t usually invest much into them as they are fast fashion and change as quickly as we do! This skirt was under $30, and it’s super cute! I can bear with the annoyances for a crazy change up to my wardrobe every once and a while. I love how fringe took my otherwise casual outfit into something a little bit more rocker-chic. By the way, are sock heels even a thing anymore? Am I late to that party…? Guess I tried two items made popular by Kylie Jenner in this post! (Psst..one of my first posts was me trying a look made trendy by Kendall Jenner. Read it HERE!)
