Mini skirts! It’s all I see in the stores and the magazines. It’s like 2004 decided to come back (did you know Von Dutch is gaining traction again? OMG!) and mini skirts jumped right back to the top of our Christmas lists. I’m not much of a mini-skirt wearer, as you can see I haven’t worn one yet on this blog. I’m all about trying out new fads, though, so I figured that I should take a chance with this one. The trouble is: what mini skirt to pick? They’re in every material/fabric under the sun from tweed to vinyl to leather to wool. I figured if I’m going to wear a mini skirt that I better do it big, so I chose a totally “sound” purchase: a black vinyl miniskirt.
Even though I liked how fun and different this skirt was, I don’t think you’ll see me wearing mini skirts very often. They just don’t work with me! I feel too self-conscious and always having to pull them down when they rise up. This skirt is so cute, but just not on me. I’m happy I tried it though. It is so fun! I love the idea of vinyl as a fabric. Maybe I’ll revamp it into something else for NYE (yup, already thinking about that outfit).
This beautiful pastel blue shirt is amazing! I love pussy bow blouses, but the name…not so much. I was really excited to see this color so late in the year as I wouldn’t have pegged it to be a fall/winter color. It is so gorgeous and the bow makes it really feminine.
You’ve seen this hat before. Similar to mini skirts, I don’t like short brim hats, but I really like this one. I feel this is 100% a fad that may have already passed, but I’m still digging it. Same goes for the shoes too, you’ve seen them before. They are a vintage pair of my mother’s from a company I can barely find anything on today. If you’re really interested, Jimmy Choo makes a similar pair.
Accessories include my silver feather earrings from a boutique located back home and my awesome JORD watch. I did a collaboration with them and I highly recommend the watch (aside from working with them). I chose the Frankie watch because I love a big faced watch, like a man’s watch.
